ARE YOU INTERESTED IN A CONSTRUCTION CAREER?

There aren't a lot of minorities and females in the construction industry, as there are many barriers you have to overcome before you can even be considered eligible to apply. The first barrier is that you need to be academically qualified with a high-school diploma or G.E.D. From there you can begin to explore your career options.

But let's be real for a moment . . . sometimes meeting this "bare-bone" requirement isn't enough. In fact, not everyone with a high-school diploma or G.E.D. can gain entry into the construction industry. You have to be able to pass apprenticeship admissions exams (which can be difficult). You have to be able to ace a job interview. You must demonstrate that you have the dedication and work ethic to succeed.

It isn't easy for minorities to meet these requirements, as they often attend some of the worst high schools in the city. They also have to address a set of social and economic issues that make it extremely difficult to complete a course of study.

The New Skill Builders understands the unique issues minorities face as they aspire towards lucrative construction careers. That is why we offer our program... It is designed to not only give you the edge you need to gain admission to apprenticeship programs, but to also give you the tools you need for lifelong success.
