GRADUATE SUPPORT
If you complete all of the required training activities during the 13-week cycle, graduate from the program, achieve 75% or greater on test scores, and remove other barriers to apprenticeship, you will be considered job-ready.
The case manager provides all job-ready candidates with career information and helps them choose three career tracks within various construction industries. Once these goals are clearly defined, the case manager helps the candidates design a clear plan to help them achieve those goals. The plan includes referral to programs, linkages to support services (childcare, transportation, etc.), sponsorship opportunities, and other resources designed to help the candidate navigate the application processes common to most apprenticeship programs.
Our staff initiates personal contact with each graduate at least once per quarter in order to track graduate success, provide guidance, and offer other forms of support, where appropriate. Information collected through these tracking efforts include employment date, project name, company, job title or trade, apprenticeship entry or status, etc.
Our staff also hosts several alumni/student mixers where graduates can meet current participants, share their stories, and offer advice. These mixers feature journey-level individuals (both workers and foreman) and current apprentices from trades that are looking to test for new apprenticeships in the future.
